The Journey: From Formlessness To Form

Michael & Jahna

A transformative sonic passage from formlessness to embodiment - ancient Himalayan singing bowls, ethereal voice, and orchestration woven into a journey inward…

About the Album

The Journey: From Formlessness To Form soundtrack album wasn't birthed from a plan, but from a moment. It was a simple meditation to a set of ancient Himalayan singing bowls - all between 300-600 years old - when a completely immersive, awe-struck sensation dropped into Jahna: a feeling perhaps too vast for language. What followed was years we spent together re-discovering that sensation back into sound, story, emotion: how do we take something formless and give it a shape other people can step inside? How do we make the invisible heard and felt?

The answer became an immersive spatial sound album fused with a fulldome 360-degree film - a weaving of more than 60 ancient Himalayan singing bowls, ethereal voice, sacred gongs, flute, handpan, cello, violin, tabla, and guitar. This isn't a piece meant to be watched from a seat or heard through headphones at a distance. It's created to be entered. Every song carries frequency beds that hum just beneath conscious awareness, tones which research shows can gently guide the brain toward states of creativity, expansiveness, and ease - so that the listener is gently invited into their own experience.

Every frame, every tone bends toward the same intention: to invite us all back into our own clarity, our own aliveness. To stir the imagination until we feel genuinely moved by our own gifts - and even hungry to bring them into the world.

What sets this work apart in the Grammy conversation isn't only its instrumentation - centuries-old Himalayan singing bowls captured in a full 360° dome film, mixed in ATMOS and stereo by Michael - it's what we believe the work's intention is for. This music isn't created to merely entertain; it's music that we hope can be embodied to transform. It's this quality that makes it a natural home in the New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category: one that doesn't play like a conventional album, but more like weather, like tide - an ambient, fluid world carefully curated with intention, cultivated to invite every listener into an open state rather than through traditional structure.

Gratefully, the project already carries recognition - Best Dome Film, Edison Innovation Award, and an Audience Choice Award - along with two international distribution deals. But its truest measure has never been the trophies. It's the open quiet, after a room full of strangers experienced something together, walking back out into the world a little more tethered to themselves, and to each other.
