Garden Waves’ Sound Installation
Garden Waves is the USC Pacific Asia Museum’s first immersive sound installation, composed by Michael and Jahna Perricone. This unique 58 minute soundscape blends the transformative frequencies of Antique Himalayan singing bowls, world instruments, and melody to create a harmonious experience that soothes the mind and body. Playing throughout the courtyard, Garden Waves bridges ancient sound-healing traditions with modern scientific understanding, offering visitors a moment of peace and reflection.

Resilience Rising
"Bless this house that was, that is, and that will be again.” Photographs by Robert Sturman
"At sunset, on the scorched earth where their Pacific Palisades home once stood, sound healers Michael and Jahna Perricone laid out a blanket, placed their Tibetan bowls, and began to play.
“Bless this house that was, that is, and that will be again.”
What remains is ash and silence — and yet, what rises from it is devotion, presence, and sound.
In a time marked by loss, longing, and uncertainty, this moment became a sacred ceremony — a reminder that healing is not about returning to what was, but honoring it — and daring to imagine what can still be.” - Robert Sturman
"There is something very special about this one to me. Something about looking west, a longing for freedom. And I have to say, as a photographer, I have been very much influenced by the black and white photography from the Great Depression and the migration of families from East to West. The Grapes of Wrath. I love this photograph of the two of you.” - Robert Sturman
